- We start with the story of 84-year-old Sally Stoodley and her daughter Janine who raised more than £3,000 for a new hoist at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, where Sally was treated for a stroke. We joined them as they handed over the cheque.
- Resident doctors, formally known as junior doctors, have begun strike action today, with warnings some services could be affected at Winchester Hospital. Anna O’Brien spoke to Alex Whitfield, the Chief Executive of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

- Dragon Boats will be racing down the River Itchen on Saturday. The event at Palmers Field is a first for the hospice’s Naomi House and Jackspace.
- It’s one of the most hotly-contested sports trophies and this week, the battle for the Ashes came to a village cricket pitch near Winchester. This was the so-called ‘grey Ashes’ involving England and Australia’s over-60s teams. Winchester Radio went along.

- Winchester Hospice has given a shout-out to local fundraiser Pat Bloor who has raised over £1,500 for the charity by hosting tea parties.
- To a Winchester business which has taken top spot in the Good Food Guide’s best 100 local restaurants. Lucky Lychee serves Malaysian meals at the Green Man pub in Southgate Street.
- Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been shortlisted in five categories for this year’s Patient Safety Awards.
- A shout-out to the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson, who has been installed as a Companion of St Swithun at Winchester Cathedral. Only five people have been honoured in this way by the cathedral.
- To comedian and Strictly winner Bill Bailey who set off from Winchester on Monday to walk the South Downs Way. He’s raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of his mum who died of cancer 20 years ago.
