- A man from Winchester has been welcomed home after taking on one of the toughest sailing challenges. Gary Venturi gave up his job as a criminal barrister to take part in the Clipper Round the World yacht race. Winchester Radio was with the teams as they returned to Gunwharf Quays.
- A plaque has been unveiled in Winchester to remember 49 people killed in World War 1, more than 60 years after the original memorial went missing. Winchester Radio joined a service of remembrance in St Maurice’s Covert.

- A tribute has been paid to a young father who died in a crash in Kings Worthy. 27-year-old Ryan Brown from Winchester was a father of six and always full of jokes and laughter.
- A memorial service has been held for a homeless man who died close to the Middle Brook Street car park last month.
- Winchester Police say they have had fewer reports of anti-social behaviour in the Hyde Gate area of the city after a dispersal order was put in place last weekend.
- Police have been out and about in Winchester this week, meeting residents in the city centre and knocking on doors, as part of Let’s Talk Day.
- A charity walk is returning to Winchester city centre this year to raise money for the Winchester hospice. The Purple Night Walk is back for its second year on Saturday 5th October. We talk to the hospice’s fundraising manager.
